Migrations & Governance
Safe migrations to SharePoint Online with a governance model that lasts.
A migration is the one moment you get to decide what not to bring. Move everything and you have paid to relocate the problem. We treat it as a clean-up with a deadline attached.
Governance is what determines whether the result survives year two. Site lifecycle, ownership, retention and a review cycle, automated wherever possible, so the structure holds when attention moves elsewhere.
What you get
- Content audit identifying what to move, archive and retire
- Migration with metadata applied, and a reconciliation report
- Site provisioning templates so new sites start governed
- Lifecycle, ownership and retention policies
- Governance handbook and admin training
Questions
How long does a migration take?
The copying is rarely the constraint. Deciding what to keep and how it should be structured is, which is why we run the audit and architecture first and migrate department by department.
Can we leave old content behind?
Yes, and usually you should. Archiving to cheaper storage with a search bridge keeps it retrievable without dragging it into the new structure.
